Avenue House Care Home Expansion

This large-scale project involved the expansion of Avenue House Care Home after the owners purchased the neighbouring property to increase their facilities. The existing house was fully stripped out to allow for redevelopment and to connect it with the current care home building.

A new extension was constructed between the two properties, creating 13 additional bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The project also included new communal spaces such as a living area, office, and a dedicated hairdressing room for residents.

Due to the size of the development, extensive structural work was required. Large structural steel beams were installed to support the new layout, and roof trusses were lifted into place and securely fixed. Stud walls were constructed throughout to form the new rooms, with every wall built using rockwool insulation, resilient bars, and soundproof boards to ensure high levels of acoustic insulation and comfort for residents.

The project also included extending the existing car park to accommodate the increased capacity of the care home.

This was a major project that transformed the property into a fully integrated extension of the care home, providing modern, comfortable spaces for both residents and staff.
